Caring for people, including your friends, family, coworkers, customers, and vendors.

Sometimes we get caught up in our own daily lives and forget about others that do not have it as we do.  Something to think about are these two scriptures from the Bible:

  • John 15:12-13  Jesus said – My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
  • Romans 12:9-13  Love must be sincere.  Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.  Honor one another above yourselves.  Never lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God’s people who are in need.  Practice hospitality.

Of all those people out there in the world, how do we view them?

We are to look at everyone as an equal or better yet, you are their servant.  Here are a couple of good versus to think about:

  • Proverbs 3:27-28  Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.  Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow” – when you now have it with you.
  • James 2:1-4  My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism.  Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.  If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Lastly, it is important that we not only help others, but especially the children of this world.

The children do not have a chance without the adults giving them instruction and setting the examples.  Following these two verses from the bible, will help you with that:

  • Proverbs 27:10  Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you – better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.
  • Colossians 3:21  Fathers, do not embitter (poison or make cynical) your children, or they will become discouraged.
